Glitch in the Matrix

One weekend my two daughters and I decided to visit my brother who was living at the time, within walking distance from a beach in North Carolina. The day after we arrived, we needed to go food shopping. At my brother’s suggestion we drove to the Super Walmart about twenty miles away for the best selection and prices.

I remember when we got to the parking lot, it had arrows on the pavement directing traffic up and down alternating rows. I was the one driving so I followed the arrows to a parking spot near the food entrance of the store. There were two entrances and since our shopping was primarily going to be food for the week, we wanted to be near the grocery side of the store.

We went into the store and shopped. When we exited, we went out the door that we had entered in. As we pushed the cart full of groceries towards where we had parked the car, we realized the car was not there.

All three of us started to panic. We immediately went to worst, thinking that our car had been stolen. My mind was in a whirl of what I would have to do. I was in an area that I didn’t know well, didn’t even know the address of this Walmart to call it in, and I didn’t know my brother’s phone number at his work.

Even through both girls initially went to where we thought the car was, they started roaming the parking lot on the off chance we had parked it in a different spot.

I joined them and as we walked around, I noticed that there were no arrows on the pavement directing traffic up and down the rows as I recalled.

We eventually found the car parked on the other side of the parking lot in front of the other door. We all knew we had walked in and out of the grocery side door and not the merchandise side.

Fortunately, my key worked, the car started, we were all safe, and we got back to brother’s place without any more strange incidents. The drive back we discussed each others recalls of the event.

What was most disturbing about the incident was all three of us experienced it together. We had no explanation other then it was a glitch in the matrix and for a moment we had existed in an alternate reality. It would have made me question if I was going crazy except it happened to all three of us. If you don’t like that explanation, then you can call it a mass hallucination. Whatever works for you! For me, it was one of my stranger experiences with my family.

Have a great day and try not to lose your car when you go shopping!
